January 4, 2018 – Seattle – Critical Insight, a leader in cybersecurity Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, announced today the close of additional $1.1 million of funding. The capital is an extension of the company’s original Series A in March of this year and brings their total funding to $4.35 million.
Since its Series A, the company has more than doubled its number of employees and its annual recurring revenue. It also opened a Seattle office, upgraded the security operations center, and added an additional high-security data center. “We have made tremendous progress since March,” said Garrett Silver, CEO. “While our mission and values remain unchanged, our growth allows us to better serve an expanding number and variety of clients.”
The additional capital will be used to scale the company’s MDR for large clients. “We have been struck by the amount of up-market interest we have received,” said Silver. “Just like SMBs, organizations with 1,000s of employees are struggling to attract and retain the IT security staff they need to protect their networks.”
Critical Insight’ $1.1 million extension included a further investment from Alan Frazier’s East Seattle Partners as well as a number of other investors, not least of which was Ken Langone. “Companies spend billions on cybersecurity software, but the headlines show that more software is not solving the problem,” said Bruce Langone, Ken’s son. “The real problem is the shortage of human expertise. Critical Insight’ security analyst talent, amplified by purpose-built technology and analytics, provides a meaningful solution.”
