Accessing Funds from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (HR 3684)

1 min read

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, formerly known as the infrastructure bill, provides funding for CISOs. In most states, the authorizing agency responsible for disbursement of the funds is the Emergency Management Division with an oversight board in place. The actual announcement/notice of financial opportunity is expected to come in late March or early April.

In addition to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), a new cyber grant program is also in the works for May or June. The process for the cyber grants will involve local and state governments making their pitches for available funding. Cyber security assessments will be required for these types of proposals in order to show areas of weakness as well as proof that you have a solid incident response plan in place.
